Trailer, cast, and visuals for Sound! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest



A key image and trailer for the previously unannounced anime Sound! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest were also unveiled, along with the summer 2023 launch time. In 2024, the TV anime will return for a third season.

The light book series by Ayano Takeda is the inspiration for the anime. On the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! website, the manga adaption was serialised. The two seasons of the TV anime were both animated by Kyoto Animation. From April to July 2015 and October to December 2016, respectively, they were broadcast. Liz and the Blue Bird and Sound are two animated movies in the series. In 2018 and 2019, respectively, Euphonium: The Movie: Our Promise: A Brand New Day was released. Kyoto Animation created the animation for both. The second season of the TV anime has a spin-off called Liz and the Blue Bird.

▍About Sound! Euphonium

The novels by Sound! Euphonium were translated into English by Yen Press, who states:

Finding herself, one note at a time…After a terrible disappointment at the All-Kyoto Concert Band Competition, music has lost its spark for Kumiko. But her first year at Kitauji High School is a chance for a fresh start. So when it comes time to choose a club, she can’t resist joining the band again–even though they’re simply terrible. The strict new club director has promised to whip them into shape to reach Nationals, but the trouble runs deeper than just a lack of practice. Plus, the discord within the club tugs at Kumiko’s old insecurities. Will Kitauji High School find its rhythm before the competition? Will Kumiko?
