Yuji Nunokawa, the creator of Studio Pierrot, dies at the age of 75

Yuji Nunokawa, a founder and former chairman of studio Pierrot, passed away on December 25 at the age of 75. The studio will have a farewell ceremony later; the funeral will be private for family members. The following announcement was made on Studio Pierrot's official English Twitter account:

Yamagata's Sakata is where Nunokawa was born. He worked as an animator and director for Mushi Production, Studio Jack, and Tatsunoko Production following his graduation from Nippon Design School. In addition to the original Urusei Yatsura, he also worked on the storyboard for The Ultraman and Time Bokan. Along with former workers from Tatsunoko Production and Mushi Production, he started Pierrot in 1979.

The Three Little Ghosts, numerous Naruto films (including Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Will of Fire), and Bleach films were among the many productions on which Yuji Nunokawa has worked as a producer over the years (including Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody). He was in charge of the movie's planning for Poltergeist Report from Yu Yu Hakusho.

Numerous adaptations of well-known, long-running series, including Urusei Yatsura, Bleach, Naruto, Osomatsu-kun, Tokyo Ghoul, and more recently Black Clover, Boruto, and Kingdom, helped Studio Pierrot establish its reputation.
