A Look at the Volume 9 Cover Art for Classroom of the Elite Year 2

On Sunday, a unique live stream revealed the Volume 9 cover for the Classroom of the Elite Year 2 light novel. The release date of the new volume has been announced for February 25, 2023. The live stream was organised to commemorate the December 23 release of the first Blu-ray and DVD volume of Classroom of the Elite Season 2 as well as the achievement of a new milestone in Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2023. The light novel took first place in the categories for Male Character, Male Illustrator, and Novel, as well as winning the online survey. The protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, and illustrator Shunsaku Tomose also earned first place.

In the recently released cover image, Honami Ichinose's students Mako Amikura (left) and maybe Norihito Watanabe are seen. The two students shared a classroom.

▍Light Novel 

The light novels for Classroom of the Elite are being written by Shogo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose. Presently, Kadokawa is publishing the series under the MF Bunko J light novel imprint. The series began with Volume 1 in May 2015, and Year 1 was wrapped up with Volume 11.5 in September 2019. The eighth edition of the continuing Year 2 series was published in October 2022. From July through September 2017, Year 1's anime adaption aired on television. The complete tale from the light novels was not, however, presented. The remaining portion of the anime's story would be covered in the second and third seasons, it was confirmed in February 2022. Both are animated by Studio Lerche, and the second season aired from July to September 2022, and the third is set to release sometime in 2023.

The story of Year 2's first book, which Seven Seas Entertainment has the rights to publish, is described as follows:

As Ayanokouji and his classmates begin their second year at the Advanced Nurturing High School, they’re greeted by a fresh gauntlet of exams and a fresh batch of rather unique first-year students. They’ll have to get to know each other quickly, because the first special exam pairs the first-years with the second-years on a written test—with only the second-years facing expulsion if their team performs poorly! Worse yet? It seems one of the new first-years is also from the White Room. Can Ayanokouji avoid expulsion while sussing out the identity of this hidden foe?
