The volume 12 cover for the 86 Eighty-Six light novel was unveiled. It was created by illustrator Shirabi. The book will be available on February 10, 2023. The series is being published by Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko.

The serialisation of Asato Asato's light novel with Shirabi's artwork started that year. There are other manga adaptations, but none are active right now. The light novel's English licence holder, Yen Press, defines the plot as follows:
