Ai Hoshino, the idol, is dressed as Santa in a holiday image that was shared on Twitter by the Oshi no Ko anime. Oshi no Ko is scheduled to make its debut on HiDive sometime in April 2023. The first 90-minute episode will begin pre-screening in theatres all throughout Japan on March 17.

The Shueisha-published manga, written by Aka Akasaki and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, which debuted in Weekly Young Jump in 2020 and had nine tankoubon volumes as of October 2022, served as the inspiration for the anime. It is distributed via the Young Jump Comics brand.
The premise is as follows, according to Yen Press:
Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).
