The second season of the anime BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War arc (TYBW) has a new trailer, and it will premiere in July 2023. A unique episode 13 closing video was also published by the anime. Episodes 12 and 13 of the first cour, the final two episodes, were aired together as a one-hour special. The adaptation, which will consist of a total of four courses, is being animated by the Pierrot animation company. The Separation is the official subtitle for the second instalment of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.

A total of 74 volumes of Tite Kubo's BLEACH manga, published in serial form in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from August 2001 to August 2016, were published. The original TV anime adaptation, which had 366 episodes and ran from October 2004 to March 2012, was also created by Pierrot Studio. The 480th to 686th chapters of the manga are covered by the new anime (volumes 55 to 74). As Ichigo and Orihime from the original anime, Masakazu Morita and Yuki Matsuoka are reprising their roles.
